Fall Revival with Rev. McCartha
McKenzie
October 23-25, 2009

On the final night of revival, some of these words were spoken
in regard to what God did and is doing in the life of our church:

"God has been teaching me not to just do
devotions, but to live in the Word of God."

"I have learned the importance of being
  surrounded with Christian friends."

"I know that God can give me rest!"

"God has challenged me to stop trying to be right and start
  trying to be righteous."

Rev. McKenzie brought the Word of God in new and wonderful
ways.  From his messages, we learned some amazing
holiness principles:

It's more important to be righteous than right.

We have to live our entire lives under the Word of God.

We have to have a picture, a vision of who God is and
what it's going to be like when we meet Him.

If the only time that we're spending in God's word is fifteen
minutes of devotional time, that's the same as drinking an
energy drink.  It keeps  you going for a little while, but then
you're exhausted.  Our whole lives must be under the Word.

II Corinthians 5:16-21 teaches us that we can't look at
people according to the flesh any longer.  Skin color can't
be the only thing that we see.

Racial reconciliation isn't important.  We need to be
reconciling people to God, not to each other.

We often spend too much time listening to ourselves and
not enough time speaking truth into our lives.  We need to
confess God's Word over our lives.

This is just a glimpse into the life-change that God has initiated
in the hearts of so many at Victory Hills.  We must declare
thanksgiving and praises to the God who is so faithful!
